Dining

We left at 6 for our morning boat trip, mist over the river, and as planned were just in time to see all the monkeys waking up.
Photographing the proboscis monkeys (now my favourite)

We turned down a tributary to a lake.

At the lake we did a short walk which I have to admit I didn't truly enjoy... There were lots of mosquitoes and I turn into a real girl with leeches of which there were a lot! Glad I took Maria's advice and put on my stinky trousers and long sleeve top.

I had a snooze before and after lunch, then we were joined by Raymond from Switzerland for our evening boat trip. Lots of monkeys again as well as a monitor lizard.

So many!

Like fruit

Instead of the night boat trip and leech infested walk our hosts said they would do a sleep out on the boat with us. They put planks over the front seats, carried much equipment down and at 9 o clock we set off for the narrow tributary we visited the first evening.
Not too far down we saw a wild cat in a tree. Lovely colours.
We chose a spot near macaque monkeys, edged the nise to the bank (is this so iiwas closest to the jungle!!) Andnput a lantern at the end of the boat so our precence was seen.

While our host sat watch we went to sleep to the sounds of the jungle. The trees drip water so that it sounds like it's raining, the owl was hooting and monkeys coughed now and again. I woke a few times, checked for pythons or cobra's, then soon went back to sleep. Roy woke me once in the night when there was a different kind of wild cat on the other bank.
