Mon 12th to Manado and Bunaken island
Our driver collected us at 5:30 and we were soon at the airport (taxi cost 50,000, which is like R50).
Goodness Lion air is awful. First they wouldn't take our bags until two hours before our flight. We sat on a hard bench with no backrest for nearly two hours.
I'd lost my nail scissors and after already having done a morning flight and passed through countless checks the last one found the scissors and said not allowed but I could give to the lady who took my checked luggage. I joined her long queue a third time, but she said I needed to go elsewhere and pay for a kg of luggage (for a tiny pair of nail scissors!) I explained my wallet was the other side of security but she wouldn't assist. So I went back through with my troublesome scissors, got money, paid for the kg and the baggage lady was so annoyed she had to deal with this she didn't try hide it at all. At least I enjoyed her annoyance as I'm sure she could have sent them first time. But the fun wasnt over. We sit waiting at our gate, and waiting. Our flight is scheduled for 13:15, but it's been showing "Delayed arrival 15:20". Sigh. Its now 15:23 and no updates I don't feel very safe using them. Never again!!

Three hours late, we boarded the plane, only to sit on the tarmac another half hour.. Poor Dad realised this was the exact same plane which crashed a week or so back and monitored our flight, noticing ehrbwe reahced Manadon we circled above the airport three tines which he found strange as there were no other planes in the air. Then we headed out to sea and he lost contact of the flight! We re appeared and landed at last, dark already.
Our driver was waiting and took us to the jetty. I gave a sweet hungry dog our left over pizza and bread from breakfast before getting on our boat. Having to go a bit slower in the dark we finally arrived at Bunaken Island just before nine and were met by Plamena from Bulgaria and Greg from France. Also Eno and Nino from Indonesia. We are the only guests here.
