Wed 7 Nov. Kota to Jakarta to Labuan Bajo

Eurgh, 3:15 wake up. Guy at reception still asleep and didn't call out taxi. Tiresome wait at airport where all the coffee shops are still closed. I feel like I'm getting a sore throat again..... nooooo!

Day of flying but I'm happy being on a vibey island again. We are now in Indonesia. To be honest I've had enough of the jungles for now. I've got itchy bites all over me.

We've booked 3 nights with Flores Xpirates on Komodo island, then 2 nights in the national park with a guest house, who seems a bit vague and uncontactable a lot of the time, so we not sure if that will work out. For now we are having a beer as out boat to Komodo leaves at 5:30.

It was quite hectic climbing down the harbour wall into the boat, in a dress, in a musliM country 😂

The trip was quicker than expected, only about an hour to the island, but was already dark.

The whole crew were down on the deck to welcome us and help carry our bags. There is a long deck to the lounge area, which is right on the beach. As far as I know our eco "resort is the only one on this island. Lovely place.

Dinner was soon served 

Afterwards we were taken to our cottage right up the mountain. Poor guys carrying our 25kg bags.  Our room is simple, no fan unfortunately, with a bathroom underneath. I had to walk back down to get some drinking water and almost stepped on a snake!! I asked at the lounge and she said if it was bright green its very venemous (vine snake I think) but if brown it's ok. She said she's more scared of the centipedes... One stung a guest on his ear and half his face swelled and he had to be rushed to hospital. I'm keeping my bags zipped!!
